CCR: 2024 results

Caisse Centrale de Réassurance (CCR) closed the 2024 financial year with a turnover of 1.237 billion EUR (1.3 billion USD), showing a slight 0.7% increase over one year.

Premium volume was divided between the natural catastrophe business (92.9%), terrorist risks (6.8%) and exceptional risks (0.3%).

Net profit climbed by 80.2% to 182 million EUR (189.6 million USD).

The French reinsurer posted a technical deficit for the eighth year in a row. In 2024, the underwriting loss amounted to 49 million EUR (51 million USD). This deficit was incurred as a result of natural catastrophe claims totalling 1.037 billion EUR (1.1 billion USD).

This underwriting deficit was however offset by a 38.5% improvement in the financial result which stood at 252 million EUR (262.5 million USD).
