DIFC: Increase in Insurance Activity in the First Half of 2025
The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) has released data on the insurance and reinsurance sector’s activity for the first half of 2025.
Gross Written Premiums (GWP) generated by insurance and reinsurance companies operating within the hub reached 3.5 billion USD in 2024, up from 2.6 billion USD in 2023, representing a 35% increase.
In the first six months of 2025, the DIFC also saw a record number of new entities across all financial sectors, establishing operations within the Centre. The total number of registered companies rose to 7 700, up from 6 153 a year earlier.
Of these, 135 are insurance and reinsurance companies, representing an 8% year-on-year increase from 125 in the first half of 2024.
