Everest Group: 2024 results

Everest Group ended the 2024 financial year with a turnover of 18.231 billion USD, up 9.6% on the 16.637 billion USD recorded in 2023.

The Bermudan group's reinsurance business posted written premiums totalling 12.941 billion USD as at 31 December 2024, while the direct insurance segment recorded a premium income of 5.078 billion USD. The remaining 212 million USD are underwritten by other Everest Group businesses.

The group's overall annual net profit stood at 1.373 billion USD, down 45.5% over one year (2.517 billion USD). This decline was mainly due to a net loss amounting to 593 million USD in the fourth quarter of last year.

Everest is expecting pre-tax losses related to the Los Angles fires to range between 350 and 450 million USD. These losses will be recognized in the first quarter of 2025.
