Turkey to introduce long-term care insurance

The Turkish government is moving towards the introduction of a long-term care insurance scheme for the elderly.

This program is intended to balance care costs without placing a financial burden on the elderly.

This initiative is aimed at ensuring the sustainability of the social security system and meeting the needs of the aging population.

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), the number of people over the age of 65 has risen from 7.5 million in 2019 to 9.1 million in 2024.
