Torrential rains have battered eastern Spain since 1 October 2026, triggering deadly flash floods and placing Barcelona and surrounding areas on high alert.
The death toll has risen to two, with one person still missing. The confirmed fatalities were reported in Tordera and Montornès del Vallès, both municipalities in Barcelona province.
Local authorities have canceled public events and urged residents in flood-prone areas to remain indoors.
