The proceedings of the 49th General Assembly of the Federation of African National Insurance Companies (FANAF) began on 24 February 2025.
The inaugural conference opened with the main theme of the event: “What levers for inclusive and sustainable insurance development in Africa?”. It was moderated by Tidjane Thiam, former CEO of Prudential, Crédit Suisse and Aviva Europe, and Richard Lowe, Chairman of the ACTIVA Group.
The first panel of the day was organized around the theme: “The role of insurance and reinsurance in bridging the protection gap: challenges and opportunities in Africa”, with interventions from:
- Ouafae Mriouah, CEO of SCR Maroc
- Constant Assi, Managing Director of SUNU Services
The Statutory General Assembly is scheduled to take place in the afternoon of the same day.
This year's FANAF General Assembly brought together a record number of participants. The event welcomed over 1 500 industry professionals on 22 and 23 February 2025 in Marrakech, Morocco.
