Electric scooter causes deadly fire

A fire broke out in a building in Reims, France, on the night between 5 and 6 June 2025, claiming the lives of four people: two teenagers, an elderly woman in her 80s, and her 59-year-old son. The fire was caused by the battery of an electric scooter located in one of the apartments.

A similar incident occurred in May in a building in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, where three people were injured.
